Missions & Outreach

Havelock UMC takes seriously Jesus’ instruction to help our neighbors who need food, clothing and compassion. Please help us love our neighbors by participating in one of these ministries:

Last Wednesday Dinners

The last Wednesday of every month, Havelock opens its doors for a free meal to whomever would like to take part. Open to church members and the community, we regularly serve more than 150 people at these events. The menu changes from month to month and is a grab n go meal. Listen for announcements during Sunday worship and our Facebook page for details about each month’s meal. If you would like help, don’t hesitate to call the church office at (402) 466-6736.

FoodNet

Havelock United Methodist Church is proud to provide space on Tuesdays for this important ministry in the Lincoln area that provides mostly perishable foods such as fruits, vegetables, dairy products and bread – all items not usually found at a dry goods food pantry, but are still in demand. Distribution of food begins at 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays in our fellowship hall. Drop in to ask questions or check out FoodNet’s website.

Alcoholics Anonymous

Havelock United Methodist Church understands the fight many people have with addiction, in many forms. Our church is pleased to open our doors to support groups that help people reclaim their lives. Here is the ongoing schedule for meetings at the church. Most meetings are in the Friendship Parlor or the chapel.

  • Monday’s @ 7 pm
  • Friday’s @ 7 pm

Diaper Depot

A healthy change of diapers can cost a family with one infant more than $100 per month. It’s a necessity that food stamps and WIC don’t cover. Diaper Depot is a joint mission project between Havelock United Methodist and New Hope United Methodist churches. Together, the churches serve more than 200 families in need of diapers. You can contribute by donating money or diapers by dropping them off at the church.

United Women in Faith

This denomination-wide organization takes on many tasks for the well-being of the church family. The United Women in Faith assists with a wide variety of missions projects, funerals, and special events in the lives of the congregation. We offer a couple of women’s groups Priscilla’s Circle & Esther’s Circle.
