Education

Wonder, Love and Praise

Our adult Sunday School class meets each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in the Friendship Parlor, just off Fellowship Hall in the east wing of the church.

The group will be studying “Wonder, Love and Praise” throughout September. This new Bible study published by the Committee on Faith and Order is designed to help participants explore for themselves the distinct convictions of the United Methodist Church, our Wesleyan heritage, our identity as a denomination and how we can preserve unity amid diversity.

In short, this study aims to help United Methodists better understand the theology of the church and, with it, a clearer vision of the reality of the church in today’s world. There is no cost, and if you miss one week, just drop in the next!

Havelock youth NEW

Havelock United Methodist Church offers Sunday School for all ages starting at 9:30 a.m., right before the morning worship service.

Elementary Ages: We provide curriculum meant to help our youngest disciples to learn the stories of the Bible to provide a foundation for their Christian journey. These ages meet in rooms in the hallway between the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall.

Youth: Kids in grades six to 12 (some shown above) meet upstairs in the Youth Room, where they discuss topics ranging from Bible stories to current events. The youth room features game tables, couches and other amenities meant to help our young people feel at home while they are learning and having fun together. Watch for special  youth events throughout the year.

Adults: Our adults meet together in the Friendship Parlor, just outside the kitchen, for a time of exploration of what it means to be a disciple of Christ. The group studies books together in 8- to 12-week intervals, but it’s never too late to take part in any study. Drop in on Sundays to meet new people and to study Scripture with an eye toward applying what we learn together into our everyday lives.
